ready.
i have one week of classes left.
and then one week of finals.
then graduating and done.
i’ve come to realize something over the past few weeks as i’ve been applying for jobs all over the place. i’m ready.
i’m ready for a real job.
i’m ready to have a place of my own.
which i don’t think i was ready this time last year, so it’s probably a good thing i decided to stay just a little bit longer.
graduation couldn’t come any sooner.

i'm done. almost.
i’m done. that is what it feels like.
i have zero motivation anymore. for example i had a art history paper due wednesday and i have known about it all semesters, but of course i didn’t start really until the night before it was due. i wasn’t panicing like i normally due when it gets to down to the wire to finishing a paper and i was okay with whatever the paper looked like in the end. for starts it probably didn’t help that i don’t actually need this class for credit, i was taking it because i need to be enrolled in 12 hours to be on yearbook staff. i’ve also been mentally not here anymore since before spring break, but since i’ve been back from break it has been far worse. i’m so done, almost.
btw. i graduate in a month. wow.

half way there.
the semester is more then half way over.
i’m almost done. it’s a little crazy to think that i’ve come this far. it’s seemed like this impossible thing that i would never be able to do, but i also looked at driving that way. but i made it through college, this thing that seemed like it was going to be so hard when really it wasn’t as bad as people sometimes made it seem.
now the impossible thing seems like finding a job. i’ve applied to two different magazines and both would be awesome to work at, but i do realize the likelihood of me getting these jobs so i’m not trying to get my hopes to high.
it scares me that i won’t be able to find a job. that i won’t be able to use this degree that i have. and i’m not sure if i’m ready for the big ole real world.

I don’t normally read the devotionals in my bible, but today as I was reading in hosea I did. this is what it said.
“real joy is knowing the depth of your sin and the extent of your idolatry. until you believe with your whole being that, given the right set of circumstances, you are capable of committing any sin, and until you know that apart from Christ there is nothing that’s naturally good in you, then you will never know real joy. real joy is knowing how bad I am and then comparing it to how much I have been forgiven.”

But never fear….it all ends well! The Chinese symbol for “friends” mysteriously looms above your heads, ensuring that this battle will end with only minor scrapes & bruises and a cup of tea.
